Are you close to giving up on your dreams?
But are you sure you have consciously and properly used your mind to achieve your dreams? A few years ago, when I was in network marketing, I attended an international convention. I loved such events as they gave me opportunities to meet and learn from successful entrepreneurs.
At some point, Mrs Kelechi Okoh and her husband, who were the most successful distributors in Nigeria, were called on stage. Kelechi (that’s how we fondly called her) who was the most outgoing of the couple took the mike. During her speech, she said something that I dismissed outright. Looking back though, it was her most important statement, even though she had glossed over it.
Read your goals several times
Kelechi said that she read her goals several times a day. I used to write my goals on an A4 printout that would have been cumbersome to carry around. Her claim didn’t make sense to me.
Today though, I believe Kelechi was right. Last week I shared how to imprint your goals on your subconscious mind by reading them as often as possible. That’s what Kelechi was doing. She was successful because, having imprinted her dreams on her subconscious mind, her actions lead to the results she wanted.
Your mind plays a very important part in your success. Apparently, more than 90% of your success comes from the part played by your mind. Use it with abandon! Here are a few tips:
- While writing your goals, make them as vivid as possible. Include images if possible. Mention how they look, smell, sound, taste, or feel.
- Remember how vivid your imagination was when you were a small kid? Go back to imagining your life as vividly.
- Play ‘Wouldn’t-it-be-nice-if’ games with you kids, your friends, or just in your mind.
Note: no dream of yours will come true if you don’t BELIEVE it will.
